As satellite communications become increasingly critical in tactical environments, protecting communication equipment from detection is just as important as maintaining connectivity. The PREDATOR GHILLIE™ SPECTRALFLAGE STARLINK THERMAL MITIGATION KIT was developed to address this challenge by providing advanced multi-spectral signature management for Starlink terminals operating in visually and thermally exposed environments.
Designed specifically for Starlink systems, the Predator Ghillie™ SPECTRALFLAGE kit reduces the terminals detect-ability across multiple spectra, including the visual, near-infrared (NIR) and thermal ranges. The system utilizes advanced SPECTRALFLAGE™ signature-management material engineered to disrupt the terminal’s recognizable shape, surface characteristics and spectral profile. By reducing contrast against the surrounding environment, the cover makes the terminal significantly more difficult to identify using conventional observation methods and advanced imagery technology.
A key feature of the system is its ability to provide thermal signature mitigation across approximately 6–15 microns, covering significant portions of the mid-wave infrared (MWIR), long-wave infrared (LWIR), and far-infrared (FIR) spectrum. Unlike conventional anti-thermal covers that rest directly against the terminal and often fail to account for thermal loading effects, the Predator Ghillie™ SPECTRALFLAGE cover incorporates a dedicated stand-off layer designed to reduce direct line-of-sight exposure to the terminal’s heat-emitting surfaces.
Because Starlink terminals typically operate at temperatures between 117°F and 122°F, the system is designed to mitigate and reduce observable thermal signatures rather than eliminate heat generation entirely. This distinction is critical for realistic field applications where operational equipment must continue functioning while minimizing detection risks.
